How it works

Investments

Overview

Invest

Step-by-step investment workflow

  1. Create your Spiko account: accept our Terms of Service, complete the KYC information & verify your identity.
  2. Select the Fund you want to invest in.
  3. Decide whether you prefer to receive your Fund shares on a wallet provided by Spiko or your own wallet; if you opt for your own wallet (self-custody), select from the available networks (currently Ethereum or Polygon PoS) and connect your wallet.
  4. Initiate an investment order for the desired amount, whether in fiat or stablecoins, that you want to invest in the Fund.
  5. Complete the transfer of funds corresponding to your order either:
    • via a wire transfer to the Fund custodian if you invest in fiat.
    • via an on-chain transfer to a partnering digital assets service provider if you invest with stablecoins.
  6. Once the Fund receives your cash, your investment order is valid.
  7. Once a day, the value of the Fund share is computed by the Fund valuator, and the investment orders are executed; your shares are subsequently minted on your wallet.
  8. The Fund invests your cash in Treasury Bills (issued by the US federal government or Member States of the Eurozone depending on the selected Fund) with an average maturity not exceeding two months.
  9. When the Fund earns interest on the T-Bills, it reinvests them so that the value of your shares accrues every day.

The entire investment process typically takes between 0 to 1 business days, depending on your bank.

Redemptions

Overview

Redeem

Step-by-step redemption workflow

  1. Connect to your Spiko account.
  2. Select the Fund you want to redeem your shares from.
  3. Select the wallet on which you hold your shares (either the one provided by Spiko or one of yours).
  4. Submit a redemption order for a specified number of shares; if you use your own wallet, sign an on-chain transfer of your tokens to the Fund’s redemption smart contract.
  5. Once a day, the value of the Fund share is computed by the Fund valuator, and the redemption orders are executed; shares in the redemption smart contract are subsequently burnt.
  6. The Fund sells T-Bills for cash.
  7. The Fund custodian transfers the corresponding redemption funds to you either:
    • via a wire transfer to your bank account if you redeem in fiat
    • via an on-chain transfer from a partnering digital assets service provider if you redeem in stablecoins.

The entire redemption process typically takes between 0 to 1 business days, depending on your bank.
